As South Korea is rapidly getting into an aging society, the number of nursing homes are increasing accordingly. However, professional operators and caring programs are rather left behind. Senior professional training programs built based on 10 years of training know-how

Peniel Educare is a senior education company that develops programs for dementia, Alzheimer's prevention and brain memory cognitive enhancement, physical health, art cognition, recreational rehabilitation, emotional singing, and laughter yoga. It also sends trained instructors to nursing facilities to provide customized classes, which have been well received by many nursing facilities.

 

Founder and CEO of Peniel Educare, Eunjung Park has over 10 years of experience as an early childhood music and senior instructor, and is responsible for the entire process of program development, teaching materials, instructor training, dispatching instructors, and conducting classes.

 

"I've been teaching kids and seniors for a long time, and as a franchisee of senior education institutions, I thought I could create a more cohesive training program, so I started my own company." says Park.

 

Peniel Educare has developed and conducts various educational programs such as dementia prevention five-sense education, laughter yoga, emotional singing classes, art, musical instrument classes, aromatherapy, and block play.

The five senses education program using jujubes is a program that focuses on stimulating the five senses, including sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing, by helping seniors make jujube jam and sandwiches. The physical activity yoga program helps relax and contract muscles through basic stretching and upper body posture correction movements using a yoga band, and is a program designed to help seniors develop cooperation and feel positive by lifting and lowering a parachute together.

 

Park also offers classes for seniors in bed, and is receiving a lot of positive reviews. "For the elderly who are seriously ill and bedridden, we spend 50 minutes teaching on site and 10 minutes visiting them one by one. After the class, they ask us not to leave, they say we look like their daughter, and they thank us. We feel grateful, proud, and rewarded because it's what we have to do. All 25 of our teachers have that mindset." says Park.

Increasing expertise with subject-specific instructor training

Peniel Educare sends certified instructors to enhance the quality of the class. "Our instructors are often more entry-level than experienced. They are growing and settling in well as they train here. I make sure that they are well prepared for the unexpected and are aware of their responsibilities. As a result, we have young, enthusiastic instructors who are delivering high-quality classes that are going viral and getting tons of requests for classes." says Park.

 

Since beginners can grow into instructors, Park said it can also help create jobs for women. "It's a job that I can do while raising my children and doing household chores, so it's great for women to take on challenges and work long hours. So I plan to continue to train instructors."
